GraphPad was installed which requires a trial key
The problem is that GraphPad ties their usage of a trial machine to a MAC address. When the Fresh Start machine is cloned, it will normally use the same MAC address. Normally this isn't an issue, but here the application reports the licence has already been used, as it has on a previously cloned machine. The machine may be on a different server or a datacenter even on a different continent, and it will report this error.
So to workaround is this - change the MAC address. In Linux this is easy, and well documented, but when using Windows less so.
Changing the MAC address inside Windows via the normally suggested routes will not work, as the qemu.conf file for the machine will override this MAC change inside the machine. So you can change MAC address in Win 10, but on its own this still won't work.
This is because the qemu.conf file has a mac address configured to work with it. This address can be changed to provide a different MAC and hence allow a different licence key.
But to enable this to work, 'Network Isolation' on each machine needs to be set as 'Disabled', then the MAC address set in the qemu.conf will be used.
